How to Be More Charismatic Using Your Breathing

We discuss how to breathe correctly and how to train your breathing so that you can use it in specific scenarios such as this where we want to be more present (you will read why below).

 

Charisma has three main components. They are presence, power, and warmth. Presence is the most important. In order to signal power and exude warmth, you must be in a space. And you cannot just be there physically, you need to be there mentally. This is what being present means.

When you are present with others they feel listened to. They feel respected. They feel valued. They can feel your power. They can feel your warmth. This is charisma, affecting others emotionally in strong ways and not in some shallow way. Charisma is emotionally connecting with others in a real and human way.

So how do we become more present? Well, it starts with awareness. Awareness of your breathing, your vision, and your hearing.

Breathing is first because it lets us become aware of ourselves and then push our awareness out of ourselves into our environment. We see others and we hear them.

 

 

Here is the protocol to follow:

1. Correct your breathing (watch video if you don’t know how)

2. Expand your peripheral vision in all directions as wide as you can.

3. Focus on the details without focusing your eyes and see as much as you can in your field of vision.

4. Listen to the sounds coming from within your body like your heart beat and your breathing.

5. Shift that awareness out of your body and push it outwards.

6. Hear in a sphere around your head and every exhale expand the sphere more.

7. Visualize yourself exhaling true power and warmth.

8. Be in the now. Get out of your head and be with the people you are around
